“Any Solar Panel” Adapter For Solar Chargeable Power Stations – 12vdc Socket To MC4 [SOLD OUT]

This is a “hobo-made” adapter cable that will let you use virtually ANY solar panel with most portable power stations that can be directly charged with solar via a 12 volt port such as the Jackery 240 and 290.

One end is a pair of MC4 solar cable connectors that you connect your choice of solar panel or suitcase kit, and the other end is a 12v female socket (cigarette lighter socket) where you plug in the 12v male power charging cable that likely came included with your power station (as in the case of the Jackery). The cable is approximately 18 inches long total.

What else is required? You MUST have a 12 volt charging cable to charge your power station with solar. Most of these are a short cable with a 12v male socket to 8mm or larger barrel connector that connects to the solar charging port on the power station. Virtually all solar capable power stations come with such a cable (see photos) or sometimes their 12v charging cable can be purchased separately. This cable is built in the USA by HOBOTECH! Using USA made 10 AWG solar cabling with tough XLPE insulation for the solar side. The 12v female socket is crimped and melded with heat shrink butt connectors, wrapped with premium electrical tape, and then covered in adhesive shrink tubing (version 2) for a weather resistant seal. This cable is designed to provide many years of service.

SAFETY NOTES

Rated for use with a maximum of 108 watts (6 amps @ 18vdc) of 12 volt solar panels. Exceed this limit AT YOUR OWN RISK. 12 volt socket connectors are only rated up to 150 watts before becoming a fire hazard! These adapter cables are not fused but are safe to use at or below the rated power. Do not use this adapter with 18 or 24 volt panels unless your power station specifically uses these higher voltages for charging. Please review the specifications of your power station before purchase to ensure this will work for you. There are NO RETURNS on this product. However, each cable was tested with a Jackery 240 and a Renogy 100w solar panel before leaving the bench.
